I’m trying to place a face in one video clip onto a body in another. I’m using “Video Event Pan/Crop…” in Vegas 7 to create a mask around the face and then position it. Is this the best way to do this? The effect looks crude and I’m wondering if there is a way to feather the edges of the mask so that the border of the mask is not so apparent. The skin tones also do not match between the two clips. What’s the best way to match them?

Yes this is the best way to do this in Vegas. The Mask tool that you are using has a Feather Type property. Just set it to something other than None. To match the skin tones use the Color Corrector FX on the new face you are adding.

Thanks for the info. I’ll give it a shot tonight.
