I’m an AC/DC kind of guy. I use Vegas on my PC and I also use Final Cut pro on a MAC. I primarily have used Vegas for all my audio recording and production and it is far superior to the audio of Final Cut. In FCP, if the project is running and you try to do just about anything else, like eq or any little thing and it stops. Vegas is amazing, you can move edits around, add eq, reverb and do all kinds of stuff while it’s still running. It’s quite a program ! Usually I do the bulk of my video editing in FCP as I am quite proficient at it.
For my latest project, I did it all in Vegas and I’m really quite happy with the result. My partner in crime had seen something on Jibjab and said, “Gordon we’ve got to do that.” I said, “Dave that’s animation. I’ve no idea how you do that.” Well, I figured it out and you can see the result at the end of this video. Link follows:

Those of you who remember Grand Funk Railroad will know Mark Farner. He is still out there giving concerts and playing a mean guitar and his voice is still very strong. To me, he sounds a bit like a Don Henley.
Anyway, my partner Dave came up with the concept of the song”If I Was the President.” It’s a very catchy song and considering how the nation will be politically charged in just a couple of months, there’s no telling what it could do.
Would greatly appreciate your feedback before the official release.
Thanks to all of you who are so giving of your experience working with Vegas. It’s a superb commuinty.

I wouldn’t compare this to Jibjab…at all. They are using flash animation, this is basically clips of video and stills stiched together one after the other. Theirs uses humor to poke fun at all pollitical sides equally, this is just…well…its not funny, its just an individuals pollitical views.

    Tony,
Thanks for helping me realize I didn’t explain myself clearly.
I didn’t mean to imply that this was anything to compare with JiBjab. What I meant to say was that my partner had seen a Jibjab animation and wanted me make the mouths of Mark and his “fellow vocalists” actually move which I do think I succeeded in doing. You’re absolutely right that this isn’t in the same league as JibJab. Their animations are really quite superb and very clever. It was late last night when I posted this so I confess to being a little foggy when I wrote the post.
