I’ve made a wedding video for my friend and have spent weeks editing only to find a strange problem when I render. After rendering the video (during moments of faster motion) blurs or creates little trails around the image. Sort of looks like a ghost or something you’d see on a bad old television. Anyway of getting rid of this blur? I’m at my wits end with this and any help would be very appreciated.

Are you converting to/from progressive footage?
What is the framerate of your project?

    Hi Douglas,

I am not very techy when it comes to this stuff so I will tell you what I know:

    1) The footage was shot on a Cannon S2 IS
    2) It was shot at the 15 fps setting
    3) I am trying to convert it to an AVI with Vegas but don’t have the space for uncompressed so was trying alternate settings like DV.

I rendered using many different settings (even removed a DIVx codec that another site said was causing the ghosting issue) but nothing has helped.

    Any idea?

    Thanks.

At 15Fps, you’re gonna have to expect some ghosting. You might try rendering to 30p, with force resample.
