Using Double Alpha Swipes In Big Projects
Hey guys,
I reckon you have run into this problem yourselves. When you use double alpha swipes, you need a solid white color to be put in the child layer.
The problem I have is using double alphas in big projects. I need to have many layers BELOW that white solid color but you need it set across the whole time because of the layer properties.
For obvious reasons the alpha swipes need to be on the upper levels.
How do you guys get around this issue of double swipes but not having that damned solid white ruin the rest of your movie?

I don’t have alpha swipes but if you are referring to the fact that a track has been put in mask mode so it needs a solid white mask to see the video below it, that’s easy to solve. Split the video and drag it to a higher track that is not in mask mode.

Slight clarification…when you say split video you mean…

After the swipe completes, you press the S key to split the video and drag it to a track above the mask track.

I did a one handed clap on that one (forehead slap). Yes, I see how it works now!
