Problems with black border around my video
I am using FRAPS to record some ingame video, and now using Sony Vegas to render and put some effects on them.
My resolution ingame is 1280×1024 and I am rendering them to 1024×720( I can get HD quality on vimeo.com with that resolution ). Rendering with H.264, 1.0000 pixel aspect ratio, 29.970 (NTSC) fps.
But my problem is that on all sides, there are some black borders I can not get rid of. Here is a link with the black border https://bildr.no/view/233780

I think you may need to open “Event pan/crop” window,
Then right click to select “Match output aspect”Steve Rhoden

If I do that, I lose like half my screen.
I tried it with a test clip, it is working. But like I said, I lose my top and buttom sides of my frapsed video.

Ohh, I unchecked the “maintain aspect ratio” under the crop menu, and I stretched to both sides atleast. Im guessing since it’s a widescreen resolution and I don’t have a widescreen I wont get the top/buttom streched out..

Well that is the correct method to do it if you want to avoid the black borders.
Using the same pan/crop window, you could however manually drag the edges(minimizing the box) …until you see no more black borders in the preview window.Steve Rhoden

Yea, but by draging the pan/crop window I will lose a lot of my video ( like top/button or left/right side ), which I do not want 😉

Well Kary,
Its either one or the other.
Therefore you either need to render your output using the same
resolution you captured them in…..or you capture your fraps
in the first place in the 1024×720 resolution that you will be

It looks like you started off doing a full screen capture from your square pc monitor. This was your mistake, if you intend on showing this in the widescreen format.You need to capture a rectangular area of your screen instead.
