HD Preview and Rendering Problems
Alright, so I’m a total newb at this and I have been teaching myself as I go along….I have hit a road block now that probably is an easy fix but is driving me up a wall. If anyone can help me out, please do since I don’t want to totally lose hope on these projects.
1) I am having major problems with previewing my videos on my main LCD display. I captured video off of an HDV tape and in my display preview settings I have it set to HD at the highest settings: 1080-60i and my PAR is at 1.33333 (HDV). For SOME reason, the preview on my main display (my only one) is just coming out blurry all over the place for no apparent reason. I honestly don’t know how to fix this and any help in getting the preview while I’m working in the project to actually display correctly would be much appreciated.
2) When I render my video to be burned onto a DVD (which I guess it renders the file and then sends it to DVD architect for menu making and burning), what is the right setting so that I ensure I get as close to the best quality as I can on the final DVD ? Should I render it in a different way and then open it up into DVD architect or is clicking “Make a movie” –> “Burn to DVD” and having the mpg and ac3 files created to be opened up into DVD architect sufficient?
3) Finally, I burned a project with some transitions and text overlays and everything previewed fine on my device (this was before problem 1 and no I haven’t changed settings consciously). Everything previewed fine on my screen but when I burned the project to playback on the TV not only was the video quality a little under what I expected for it being HDV, but the text was getting cut off. I went back and adjusted my text in the text properties box to be within the 10% safe zone but it doesn’t match the safe zone grids drawn in the small preview…which one do I trust? And how do I make sure it doesn’t all get cut off again?
Thanks in advance for anyone’s help. If it’s easier to troubleshoot this by mail, please email me at ev****@***il.com
Thanks a lot. – Emeric
