Your main video is on 1 track. Anything you put on tracks above it will overlay or cover it.Like Steve says above. Please be more specific as to what you want to do. Picture in Picture, Moving Text etc.

July 31, 2008 at 8:59 pmIf I want to move (with Event Pan/Crop) 2 objects in tandem (so they essentially stay joined as if they were one), what’s the easiest way to do this?
What I’m trying to do is put an image on track 2 inside another image of a polaroid frame on track 3, and I want to spin it around and such as one unit, rather than pan/crop both seperately every time.
Thanks.

August 1, 2008 at 7:59 amIf you want two tracks to make the same movements, then you make one track the PARENT of the other one. Movements are made then in the PARENT MOTION window (which looks like the track motion window).
Here is an example how to do it (in dutch, but the illustrations speak for themselves):

August 1, 2008 at 3:08 pmOK, thanks, yep, that’s what I wanted!
Now that causes another issue. If I want to do transitions on that “compound” track, it seems I have to manually do the exact same transitions seperately for each individual track. Is there anyway around this? … Using Vegas 6.

August 1, 2008 at 3:17 pmOne easy way would be to import the project with the ‘compound track’ into your main project as a nested file. That would give you only one track that needs the transition.

August 1, 2008 at 3:30 pmI googled to find out how to do nested projects, and the 1st explanation I found was on CreativeCow! That sounds like it would work… I’ll do that next project. Easier to leave it as is for this one.
Thx again.
