Plugins For Audio Mastering
What are the best plugins and procedures when mastering audio you’ve recorded using Sony Vegas 8?

My favorite audio mastering plug-in is iZotope Ozone 3. It has a great set of presets which usually get you very close to the sound you’re looking for. I use it on almost every project. If you just want to stay with the Sony plug-ins I would start with Wave Hammer using the Master for 16-bit preset. I usually adjust the Volume Maximizer output for -3dB and set the Threshold to taste depending on the dynamics of the source material.

Totally concur with both Douglas and John, for the cost and
accurate processing…The Izotope line of plugins is the way to go.If you are a millionaire or a hollywood production house, then the ‘Waves’ line of audio plugins is another brilliant option….lol

WAVES has lost it, IMO. When they moved everything back to TelAviv and closed their US-based tech support, they went from the cream of the crop to the cream of the crap. Tech support is horrible, products are no longer plug n’ play, keys are hard to work with, their iLok key system is no longer useful….
They *had* the best. Paranoia and their security system, coupled with bad customer service has removed WAVES from our workflow.Douglas Spotted Eagle

Sometimes it puzzles me when a company is very successful with a product, and through shoddy marketing and business plans coupled
