To update an earlier, “6cc” post: Thanks to Steve Rhoden, I “discovered” what was always there: the Color Balance FX. In addition, I revisited Secondary Color Corrector and rediscovered for myself perhaps its most useful tool: “select effect range”.

In one of my shots, I had lit a dark room with my “bad”/green light, while the rest of the shot was awash in daylight. The task was to remove the green from the now-green room without changing the color in the rest of the shot. Color Balance was useless here since it changes the color all over the shot. But, successive layers of Color Corrector (secondary), using the select-effect-range tool did the trick beautifully. As Steve noted, you have to be careful about overusing the Secondary corrector, or else the images rapidly distorts.

By the way, clicking on “show mask” is a great way to check on what areas will be effected by your change. Terrific tool. Something no doubt most of you already know.
