  Print to Tape Problems

  Hey ther all,

  yesterday I tried printing a short timeline to tape via Sony Vegas 8, Blackmagic Design DeckLink Extreme HD and Pro Beakout Cable, to a UVW 1800 Sony Betacam SP Deck.

  Under the options menu of printing to tape “Device Control”, when I choose “Auto Edit” I am able to enter in a specific time code for “start printing at”. This is important because the distribution of the commercial has specific timecodes they need on the beta tape. But when I click finish I get an error and the Beta Deck says “No REF!”.

  Now I realize this is a connection issue with the Pro Breakout Cable and the Beta SP deck, but I thought some of you might no what I need to connect and where to the back of the deck. I have never worked with Betacam before so any help is appreciated.

  you need to provide a video signal (or black burst) to ref in on 1800.
