see time code
I have a long project with time code. I can make the time code visible in tiny numbers on the timeline, but can’t figure out a way to have them show up big on the picture itself, which would be a huge help. Can I do that? Or, is there a way to make the tiny numbers on the timeline large?

If you’re referring to the Vegas timecode FX, you have height & width controls in the FX options.

Ha, I didn’t even know there was a Timecode FX. However, I am finding that the displayed timecode does not match the source timecode. That is, I have clicked on options/preferences/video/and checked both the Diplay take naes and Display take numbers. While on one of the takes, the generated Time Code from the FX seems to track with a 1-minute offset, on other takes the number generated by FX is totally different from the tiny number on the timeline.
Solution?
Note I have set both the options/ruler format to SMPTE 29.97 drop, and the FX to SMPTE 29.97 drop. I also tried both set to non-drop. The original was shot by someone else at 60i with a Z1u. I have imported with the Z1u convert-to-DV mode.

Rick, try the included “Add Timecode To All Media” script.
This should do what you want.
In earlier versions of Vegas, you had to add timecode to the event while it was still in the media pool and then add it to the timeline to display source timecode.
If you didn’t add the FX that way it that way, the timecode would only display timeline timecode.
BTW, this script will display source timecode even if you already have your clips on the timeline. -
Mike, bingo! That does it. (I do have to remove the FX Timecode for the code to read correctly.) Am I correct that before rendering the final, client copy, I should run the script, “Remove all time code from media”? If I don’t the code will be burned into the client’s copy.
