  HDV footage to SD/AVI

  I’ve done a search on Cow for this information without much success: I have hours of HDV footage shot with a Z1u that will end up edited and compressed to Flash (web) and DVD. The easiest way for me to handle this large amount of footage with my underpowered PC is to capture it into SD/avi form. Is there a way to do that? (A friend suggested Cineform convert, but they no longer seem to make that software.)

  You should be able to use the downconvert feature built into the Z1 and capture to accomplish this quiet easily.

  Thanks for the Z1 tip. I’ll try that.Any other solution seems very costly.
