Ultimate S vs Excalibur 6
Can anybody explain me the major differences between Ultimate S 3.x and Excalibur 6.x?
I tried the trial version of Ultimate S, but I was not able to test the trial version of Excalibur since it was already expired immediatly after the installation…).Thanks

Theo, download the current version of Excalibur 6 and try it again. If you need to do so, send me an e-mail and I can send you another key that will get you going for two weeks. The expiration issue was taken care of in the middle of January.
As for the differences, I’d rather you test out which one you like best for yourself. Some people like one, others like the other one, and many opt for both.

That is correct. I’ve just released version 6.0.2, though, so you need to download again. E-mail me and we’ll see what’s going on and get you working.

well my vote goes to edwards excalibur – and i’m still on ver 5!
i took a look at ultimate s (already owning excal. and really could see the need for both). i prefer edwards more utilitarian interface and easy of dropping actions on the tool bar.
that said, i have friends with ult s who prefer it over excal.

Regardless of preference, Ultimate S allows either the entire interface or individual actions to be dropped on the toolbar. We did recently do away with that feature based on customer feedback, but not until version 3. Obviously, camera cuts/dissolves are on the toolbar, but in US3, we made it possible to run many, many actions from various tabs at the same time, with one button push.

Both are fine programs that can do some impressive things.
I prefer Excailbur for it’s interface and it runs as a custom command which means that it loads when you open Vegas and docks in a toolbar tab always ready for action.Regards, Rick.
