Im not exactly sure how to explain this but im sure most people here have seen a video where youll see a transparent clip playing over the main video or it might look as if its in the background. Im currently using vegas pro 8. If you can give me instructions that would be greatly appreciated

It SOUNDS like you’re trying to adjust the Opaciity of the top clip???
Put your “master” clip on V2. Put the clip you want on top of that on V1. Now there are two ways to go from here (3, actually – no… more than that…), but the easiest is to just grab somewhere near the top of the clip itself and with your right mouse button pull down a bit. You will see a bar that you are now adjusting. It should be adjusting the Opacity and you will get immediate feedback on your playback monitor (assuming your CTI is parked on that clip somewhere).
If you want to adjust that opacity over time, that’s a different matter. Just let us know.
