  Sony vegas slowing down

  Hi,
  I’m trying to edit MXF from the new Sony EX1 camera, and throughout the editing it gets slower and starts skipping frames even when I preview 320×240 on 640×320. Is there any way improve this without purchasing an expensive video processing card? I didn’t have this problem with Avid/Premiere and HDV.
