I’m working on a wedding video and noticed i made a mistake. When control dragging to slow mo the time, i did it on one of the main clips. How can i click to reset it if I did it quite a while back without undoing everything i’ve done. I figured there had to be a way to reset a clip without having to retrim it and line it up with all the other angles….

    tips?

right-click the event, choose “Properties”, and then reset the PLAYBACK RATE to 1.

ok, so that did set the playback rate, however, i’m a bit confused.

    1. I CONTROL drag the edge of the clip, lengthening it.
    2. Then i go to properties and set playback rate to 1.00
    3. IT DOESN’T reset the length of the clip, only the rate…
    4. SO, its not lined up just right on the timeline and if i dragged out the clip to lengthen then reset the playrate to 1.00, how can it be THAT LONG still, since the resetting the play rate doesn’t adjust the physical length of the clip i’m viewing in the timeline, i would think it would have empty space, or else it would have to shorten…..

    1. which changes the playback rate slowing the clip down and makes the event itself longer on the timeline.

    2. which will reset the playback rate so the event plays at normal speed but will NOT change the length of the event. If you want the event length to change, you’ll need to either CTRL-drag it back to 1.00 (it DOES snap at that location) or use a script (for example, Excalibur will set the playback rate to whatever you want and adjust the length of the event to match)

    3. That is correct

    4. Because you only changed the playback rate – you didn’t change the length of the event. The two are totally independent.
