    Hello everyone

I’ve come up against a brick wall –
I allowed the auto exposure setting to do its thing while shooting an interview. The resulting image exposure fluctuates (the subject was very expressive with his arms) and of course the exposure changes as the movement changes.
Is there a way to sample the background and lock the exposure to the fluctuating scenes to compensate by adding the reverse exposure?

I guess I’ve learned my lesson with this one!!

I don’t think there is such a correction. If it was mine, I’d cut the footage into clips that needs correction, move those up on another track and use levels on that track to adjust. However, the best I would hope for is just to make the footage a little better.

I had been playing around with a plugin by Mike Crash called Levels Correction that perports to lock the exposure down in a dynamic way but due to the lack of info or tutorials about it I finally gave up and moved on.
