Make Light Layer Disappear
I am trying to find an easy way to make a light layer disappear, because apparently it has no opacity setting. In my composition I have a lightbulb swinging from left to right 3 times, and I’ve parented a light layer to it, so that when it is on the far right or left the composition is black, but as it swings the light’s cone hits parts of the layer and lets you see them.
Near the end of the composition, I have the lightbulb move up, and the light goes with it. At that point I would like the ‘effects’ of the light to disappear – I would like the comp to slowly fade back to the way it would be if the light wasn’t there at all, i.e. everything visible. On a solid layer I would just lower the opacity over time. Any ideas on how to do this with a light layer? I’m sorry if I’m not being clear enough, just ask and I’ll reword

What I have settled on for now is making keyframes so that as the light goes up it expands to 1000% intensity and an angle of 180%, which makes the entire composition visible but much, much brighter

You should fade the intensity of the spotlight down to 0% and simultaneously fade the intensity of an ambient light up from 0% to 100%.
