  Ex1 multicam?

  Hi All,

  I’m a longtime Avid user looking for the best solution to edit a multicam location shoot which is slated to be shot on 3x Sony XDcam EX 1.

  Given that Vegas (naturally) has the best ex1 support, I’m considering using it for this project. What I need to know is:

  1, will vegas be able to handle mutiple streams of ex1 material (we’re looking at 3 cameras, but some of it will be multipass music with 3x 3 camera passes)

  2. If the smoothness of the opperation will depend on hardware, what kind of hardware am I going to need? I had hoped to do it on a laptop with raid 5 attached storage.

  3. On-line is going to be on Smoke – which can import XML with embedded BMD uncompressed QT. Would I be able to export such a file without rendering it in Vegas beforehand? (the edit will be cuts only)
