I have a question about network rendering; I saw it a couple days ago and decided to give it a try. So I installed Vegan on a second computer on my wired network and shared all the files that contain any file sin the project, including temporary and rendering files. I have opened the firewall ports on both computers and communication is not the issue because I can look at and edit the files that are shared from either computer. I started the rendering service and added the 1 other computer (for now) that I am using as a render computer, mapped the shared files path, enabled rendering, On the remote computer I started the service, added the man computer to its render list, activated rendering, and set the file mapping. When i try and render anything over the network the service does not “assign” the computer to render any files and if I use “distribute rendering” then it fails right away.
I am using a 100mbs network connection and am really not sure what it wrong.

    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks-
    Matthew

Hmmm… over a year and no help. Maybe NOBODY has ever figured out how to make Vegas network rendering work. I sure couldn’t.

3ds Max network rendering = no problem.
Vegas network rendering = complexity + failure.
