Overlapping videos Vegas 7
Hello, I’m looking for some help overlapping 2 videos to play at the same time. I’m filming a small martial arts scene, but I’m the only one in it. I would like to be able to have me fight me, but I can’t seem to get it to work. I’ve tried the Video FX picture in picture, but that creates a border in the middle of the scene, and anything that crosses it, disappears. Is there a way to have me interact with me?

You’ll need to either shoot this on a greenscreen, or lock down the camera and use difference masking.

Well green screens are for sure out of the question lol, but I’ll read up on difference masking. Thanks for the info.

I found sort of what I was looking to do. I can get 2 of me on the screen and everything, but there’s still a border which things cannot cross. Like for instance I would like to make it look like my left hand is touching my doubles left hand. I’m using masking, then using the anchor tool to draw a box, then I move the box when part of me starts to leave it. But at that same moment, the mirror of me gets cut off because the box overlaps him. How can I now make them interact with eachother, or is that impossible?

Unless you shoot on greenscreen or shoot a locked-down camera and use difference masking, I can’t think of a way you could reasonably do this without rotoscoping (very challenging).
Greenscreen is easy, can be cheap, and will immediately remove the border limits you’re talking about.Douglas Spotted Eagle
