import from DVD error – corrupted or unknown
I’m attempting to import via Vegas’s 8.0a Import / DVD Camcorder disc function a DVD+R that was recorded on a DataVideo MP6000 recorder. After about 10 minutes of processing the first .VOB file, I get an error indicating that “An error occured while opeing one or more files. The file is most likely corrupted or of an unknown format”.
I tried a second disc made on the same machine and get the exact same error. Other discs made on other machines don’t have this problem.
After some research, I tried to drag the first .vob file from exployer directly to the timeline and get an error indicating “None of the files dropped on Vegas Pro could be opened”.
**However**, the ramining .vob files (2-5) successfully import and are displayed. The MP6000 is a professional level recorder so I have a hard time thinking it has a problem.
Any thoughts on how to diagnose this issue?
Thanks,
Larry Cole
PS> After writting this, I tried the Gspot utility and found that the first .vob file did not have much of the information that the other .vob files had. Basically the only info was that it was a mpg file and nothing else. The others indicated that it was a .vob format and had lots of other info on the right side of the screen. Don’t know what this means but I thought I would include it.
Also, just tried to recode using NERO and was successfull increating new .vob files that can be read in. At this pont I have a work around but I hate recompressing and losing any quality of the orignal dvd.
I also rudely forgot to say thanks for any help or suggestions.
