  “No Recompression Required” on rendering

  I’m working on a long project. Previsously, in similar projects, I did a render of a complicated area using a virtually lossless codec. This time I did a long one dreading the time it would take. The window in Vegas said, “No Recompression Required” and is only compressing when it comes to a new clip dropped above the base timeline. Is this a new feature of 8? And am I correct in assuming the new file will not be affected in any way in those areas when no recompression is required?

  I tried searching the data base but got no post on this.

  Yes it is. No recompression on long GOP formats!
