Replacing Source Media
So here’s the problem: We have two cameras (wasn’t my idea!) My Canon XM is no problem at all as per usual. Client introduces brand new JVC Everio HD into the mix. Anywho we’ve now edited two 15 minute projects with mixed cameras. Eveything is cool until I close the program and open it again the certain chunks of audio are simply NOT audible. It’s always ONLY from the JVC, it’s always only at the very start of a clip – you can see the wave form on the track s it should be but you don’t hear anything for a at least a second or little longer and only seems to happen when the original clip is relativly large like 3 gigs or so …. Brand new computer with 3 gigs RAM on VISTA.
So – I tried Save As = Copy Media + Trim Media in hopes that the trimmed versions would aleviate the problem – if the file size was a issue. No Go – didn’t help at all.
Now I am currently re-rendering the JVC HD clips in question from 1920x1080x32 mpeg-2 Interlaced files to 720x576x24 progressive (I think!?!?) to see if that works. The problem being then:
Can I open the project and force it to use the new Source Media and still retain the current editing?
