  Xvid AVI not visable in Timeline

  Hi there,

  I’ve got some XViD Video (Yes Downloaded for the Net) that i want to edit. While i can view it in Windows MediaPlayer, when I bring it in to Vegas nothing showns on the Timeline or Preview window. Also I get nothing out when I render back to the Hard Drive.

  I do have some other files that Will play ok and they’re (Apparently) the same format…!

  Any Ideas why on clip is usable and not thee other???

  Because they’re actually NOT the same format. Use gSpot to see what format all the files actually are.

  While you can try and load codecs to see if you can get it to work in Vegas, you may be better off just using some other program to convert them to a format that Vegas likes.

  Arr yes, Gspot is reporting that the ones I trying to is actually not the format i thought it was.

  Thanks for the advice, Looks like i have to re-Encode the files… or use AE 😉
