  • Can’t extract audio from CD

Posted by Jim Murphy on November 9, 2007 at 7:49 pm

My laptop uses Vista OS. I have both Vegas 6 & 8. With both of these I cannot extract songs from a CD. I noticed on the extract audio menu no device is listed. When I click on the “None” there is no other alternative. I went to Options>preferences>Audio Device. The device is listed as “Microsoft Sound Mapper.” This is the same setting as on my desktop (Win XP OS). I am having no trouble extracting audio on the desktop. Any help would be appreciated. TIA, Jim

Are you certain you’re logged on as administrator?
I work at a community college and the only time I’ve had that issue is when the students are on their (rather limited) profile).
My admin profile works fine for CD extrraction.

Yes, I am using the Admin account. I am wondering if Vista is creating a conflict. Anyone else having a similar problem? TIA, Jim
