Thinking of purchasing Vegas 8
Posted by Popkorn on October 9, 2007 at 7:41 pmI have a few questions though. Does this version already come with DVDA 4? Or is that a separate purchase? Also, I have been hearing about people installing 8 and not getting a transitions or Video effect plugins installed as 7 did. I currently use 7 and am very happy with it, but like anyone else, would like to upgrade to bigger better thing 🙂 Thanks for all your help!

Just like Vegas 7 came with DVDA 4.0, Vegas Pro 8 comes with DVDA 4.5.

First I’ve heard of this.
Everything worked just fine for me when I upgraded.Remember that, as an existing Vegas user, the upgrade price offer ends Oct. 31.

October 10, 2007 at 9:35 amapparently there’s cracked versions floating around of v8, and though they ‘work’, you don’t get fxs, and a lot of other stuff is screwed up….
i read somewhere that sony ‘bought out’ ssg, the crackers who unlocked 7, et al.
then again, it’s much easier to try the trial version for a month, then decide if it’s worth the investment – and considering the sp offer upgrade, i can’t see what you’re waiting for….

I just received my Vegas 6 in the mail ($99 deal) and then upgraded to Vegas8 today from the sony software website also.
Yes, I got the transitions and video effects. It all worked like I expected. And it comes with DVD ARC. pro 4.5.I’m just happy that I got Vegas 8 for $250 (total) instead of the other higher prices. This is my first Vegas software.
It’s funny….I’ve got Video Explosion that I bought a few years ago and it’s got the same interface. Maybe not all the same stuff, but it came with a bunch of high and low resolution effects like fire, explosions, clouds, lights ect… to use over top of pictures or video and they are all avi files, so I can use them in Vegas.
Now comes the task of learning how to use the program.
