Well, I waited too long! Didn’t do Sony’s special offer upgrade price from Vegaas 8 Trial, which has been working fine for me, to Full Version 8. Price went back up today. Anyone know of another ‘Special Upgrade Price’ being offered out there?

John: I purchased Vegas 7 about two months ago, and although I thought I was registered to receive update info from Sony, never got a thing on the Vegas 8 update. In looking through the Sony site, I only see the upgrade price of $249. I don’t suppose you could pass along the link for the $149 special??? I could always contact Sony Support, but thought it might be easier to ask here.

    Thanks!

You may want to contact customer service anyway. Anyone who purchased close enough to the release of Vegas 8 can get a FREE upgrade. Call and see if your date of purchase qualifies. If not, they can help you with the $149 upgrade.

Thanks for the quick answer and advice, Edward. I did contact them as you suggested, and I am unfortuneately outside the “free upgrade” date (on or after August 10th). However, they did give me the $149.95 price…. so I’m still pretty happy about it.

Does this apply if I buy the Vegas 6 for $99 and then I can upgrade to vegas 8 for $149?

I seen the deal at B&H when someone mentioned it to me. It’s only the cd-rom…but I’m assuming it has the serial number with it.

Here is a (long) link to the special promotions page (you’ll want to copy and paste it to the browser):

    https://www.custcenter.com/cgi-bin/sonypictures.cfg/php/enduser/popup_adp.php?p_sid=yP7xfnNi&p_lva=&p_li=&p_faqid=2818&p_created=1189433059&p_sp=

    Here’s what they say:

“Upgrade any professional version of Vegas (Vegas Pro, Vegas Audio, or Vegas Video, Vegas, or Vegas+DVD) to Vegas Pro 8.
    Pricing excludes Vegas LE”

But to make sure, you might want to call them.
