  • Pro Titler – sliders have no value input box.

I have some suggestions for the Pro Titler to make it better.

It is hard to select same values, because there are no value input boxes, only the sliders. Say that you want a rotation of 1.00. Well you can’t do it. When dragging the slider, the value jumps to 4.07.

Same thing for Font Sizes. No font size specified, only a numeric value. I prefer to have specific font sizes specified. Can they not at least provide an estimate?
Dragging the slider around, it is hard to get it to land on 1.00 or anything even like that.

How are we supposed to be able to be precise?I like to use roughly the same font sizes for every project. But this makes it difficult trying to set the same values.

The same can be said for Vegas timeline and it’s Fade offsets. You have to zoom in all the way until fades will snap to 1.00sec. Otherwise it selects 1.01.

It’s time the engineers need to make the software smarter. In other words…It shouldn’t be this tedious to do simple things. Other video software is smarter in these areas.

To gain precision, why not just double click the value, and input a value?
Why not set the font value in the Default Properties?

That said, I do agree, font size should be specifically designated. However, this is also a 1.0 release, so expect some great things in the future with the tool.

May I add my t’peenies worth for version 1.0x
1- Font size in points or pixels, as Wile_E says
2- Be able to pick Colour off screen
3- Better control over gradient fill
4 – Ability to add blur to font edges – that is, add blur to stroke value.

Otherwise it’s a titler with great possibilities.

    Mahesh? I’ve done your:

4 – Ability to add blur to font edges – that is, add blur to stroke value.

Applying to “Stroke”, I can control Gaussian Blur to a Sample Text in either horiz or vert OR both.

    Grazie

Thank Grazie. After our very enlighning chat on Skype, I would modify my request.
Thanks for putting me right on my nomenclature.
I am not looking to blur the font edges. I would like to apply an outline to the font, stroke in this case, and then apply slight blur to the outline clolour ( Stroke colour).

My thanks to Grazie for pointing out that there is a way to control the gradient fill. The control provided is dark blue on default black background. So I could not see it.

In light of above may I modify my requests.

1- Font size in points or pixels, as Wile_E says
2- Be able to pick Colour off screen
3- More visible colour for control bar for gradient fill ( white?)
4 – Ability to add blur outlines added to fonts ( or stroke in Pro 8 speak ).

    Thanks.

    Regards

I am sorry for wasting your time with my post. I finally found that you can click the values and input a specific one.

    Dummy me!

    It’s time I order the training DVD’s!
