Please explain this DVDA failure
When you encode the mpg2 with Vegas and get a 3,008,981kb file and you encode ac3 and get 136,148, would someone PLEASE explain to me how DVDA can do a single play DVD and come up with “the mpg2 will be reencoded because the project is too big.” I have done bigger files without such a message.
Please explain this and give me a fix if there is one. I have 15 pieces of Sony Software listed in my account with Sony, a Z1 and an A1U but they are FAST losing my support.

Jerry, my experience with DVD Architect (since version 1) is that it’s too stupid to know any better 🙂
If I know that the file size is under the allowable maximum, I ignore the message and encode anyway.
The message is ignored and it renders as expected without having to re-encode. -
So then the, “We are going to reencode the footage,” warning is BS?
You have a good solution. Maybe I should send in a suggestion to just throw up a sign that says, “Hey dumbass, you can’t do this DVD unless — but I’m a liar so you should try me and see.” It would be an improvement.
Thanks. I remember this happening in about DVDA2 but I thought it was fixed. I didn’t know it would burn the file without reencoding.

Sorry, Mike, but MY version of DVDA shows that it IS REENCODING.
I will go ahead with this but am totally pissed – almost 2 years into a project, deadline close and I can’t get this program to move past a 4 VERSION problem never corrected. -

I know how frustrating it can be.The only other thing that comes to mind is something Edward Troxel said in another Vegas forum and that was that DVDA will always reencode a menu, especially if it has video in it.
Hopefully he or DSE can expand on this “quirk”.
