outline and erase background like tv promos
i have footage of a man walking. i want to erase the background and keep the man.
im trying to figure out how to make an outline around the man and keep him moving. i can do this in a paint program but at 1 frame at a time. i see this technique on tv promos all the time. they take a person from a show and replace the background. can anyone help?

You would do this in Vegas with Bezier masking (part of the Pan/Crop tools). You need to apply keyframes to adjust the mask shape and position over time. It can be labor intensive.
It’s better to shoot your subject using a green screen technique where you can more easily key out the background.
