    Hello Everyone,

I really would appreciate some input from you all out there in videoland if you don’t mind.
I have a budget of no more than $2,000.00 for a video camera. The majority of my filming is outdoor & indoor sports and I edit with Vegas 7. Currently I do not have a hi def camera. What do you all think, do I go hi def with something like a JVC GR-HD1 or do I stay non hi def and go with something like a Canon GL2? Or, what other cameras do you reccomend? My customers up to now have not been asking for hi def, but do you think this is this going to change and if so how soon? Also is it safe to buy used? If so where (ebay?)

Thanks for the input, you opinons are very much valued.

I’ve got both a GL2 and a Sony VX2100. My opinion is the Sony does much better with sports than the Canon. Sony is better in low light situations and seems to focus quicker and holds the focus better. The Canon seems to “search” sometimes for proper focus when shooting sports.

I also vote for the Sony VX2000 and VX2100. The GL2 is a toy in comparison. But if you can go hi-def for $2,000, I would do that.
