  • Write-on with position and scaling help please!

Posted by Will August on January 27, 2009 at 8:29 pm

    Hello,
I am trying to make an effect on some footage, where the camera is moving backward.
So the problem is, I need to create a write-on effect with scaling and movement animation. But whenever I try to, the write-on effects position does not move according to the shapes position.. So it is left behind and you cannot see it.

How do I get the write-on effect to write, and move at the same time!

Quick help would be awesome! Thanks.

I found a solution (work around?)
A friend showed me how to use pre-comp. (Layer – precomp (at bottom))
And then drag pre-comp in and do whatever!

    Hi,

I have the same problem, could u be more specific in how u solved it? I have a illustrator layer within a precomp with cr(continues rasterize) turned on. On the precomp i added the write on effect. Everything seems to be working nice my precomp is nicely being drawn on stage. Turning on the cr on the precomp to preserve vector quality works. When i try to scale the precomp i seem to lose the animation.
I checked the position of the brush in the write-on effect, it seems when turning on cr it moves it position.

What am i doing wrong of better yet HELP.

    Cheers
