I’m trying to animate a plane into a sphere and am wondering if this is possible to do with AE. There is a texture on the plane which also needs to map smoothly and begin rotating once the sphere is formed.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

the only plugin I know of that can keyframe the amount of spherical distortion and wrap is from Boris. It’s clunk and the illusion might not be what you’re expecting. I have never used Zax’s products, might be worth exploring.

The best way to achieve controlled wrapping from flat to true 3D sphere is with a 3D application.

Thanks Bogesian, I’ve been looking at BCC Sphere Transition and it’s a nice effect, but the wrap is not complete as there’s a hairline split at the edges of the wrap.
