vegas 6 issue
I’m having a problem rendering a movie I’ve made. The movie runs about 65 mins (the largest I’ve ever attempted) and I’m trying to render it as an mpeg 2 file. I’ve tried twice to render but it locks up at almost the same point each time. I have an older system and it takes a while to render (estimated 16 hours for this project) but I’ve been able to render longer projects before. I thought that maybe there was a corrupt file at the point where it locks up, but I was able to render that section on its own. I’m wondering what else I might try. Also, if it’s simply that my machine doesn’t have enough juice, is it easier to render out my project in sections, then bring them all together and render out the movie that way?

If you’re sure that you are rendering to where there is enough disk space, it might be a heat problem with your CPU.

How much disk space should I have? Movie runs about 65 mins – mix of DV and psd files. Do I change the destination under the properties?

Depending on your render settngs, it should be about 2 to 3 GBs.
You set the render destination when you are in the Render As dialog.Gary Kleiner

How many MBs set for Dynamic Ram?
Check Options>Preferences>Video>Dynamic Ram.
Try setting it at 128MB and see if that helps.Steve
