DVD Architect slideshow question
Posted by Neblackshirts on April 7, 2007 at 3:38 amI want to create a DVD that is basically a powerpoint presentation that only goes to the next slide when the “next” button is pushed on the DVD remote. I know DVD Architect supports “Picture compilations”, but changes pictures automatically every 5 seconds. Is there a way to pause between pictures using Architect? Thanks.

April 7, 2007 at 3:08 pmHow would I tell Architect to loop the menu (so the graphic stays on the screen until the “next” button is pressed on the remote) and also point to the next menu when the next button is pressed on the remote? Thank you.

April 7, 2007 at 4:23 pmNot the “next” but the OK button.
Insert a button that links to the
next menu (slide), if you have more
buttons, make sure that the “next”
is the default.
Doing so ensures that you just have to press the “OK”.
The menu’s end action tells the player what to
do if the end is reached, the default is hold, I think.
You can set it to LOOP if you want, but this makes only
sense if you have something motion on the page.—-
Another way is that you set the slides length to a value
that is surely more than needed.
Let’s say change the page every 30 sec, make the slides
3 minutes length. When playing, pressing “next” skips
the remaining time of the current slide.—-
For projecting pps/ppt files I’d recommend a using
a notebook.By(t)e

April 7, 2007 at 5:52 pmit’s unlikely to be an issue if only PPT slides, but remember there is a limit to how large all your menus can be, in total.
someone else can no doubt tell you the exact figure, but IIRC it’s something like 100MB or 1GB…..

April 7, 2007 at 6:23 pmI think I got it to work adding just menus. I made the link to the menus so small that you can’t see when pressing the “ok” or “enter” button. It’s not the easiest thing to set up, but it’s what I need. Thanks for all of your suggestions!
