I am attempting to increase the velocity of an event to make it as fast as possible(time lapse type effect). I first start by holding ctl and dragging the clip to the to left. Then I insert an event velocity and max it out at 300%. Everytime I increase the event velocity via event velocity envelope the video loops. Is there a way around to increase the event velocity envelope without the video clip looping. I am currently using version 7.0a. THanks in advance, SEan.

As you make your adjustments, notice the notches that appear along the top of the event. Those are showing you the loop points. Just trim the event back to the first notch.

There’s at least a couple of ways. One would be to use the CTRL-Resize method. Hold down the CTRL key while resizing the event and you can get up to 4 times faster. (Use both the Velocity Envelope and CTRL-Resize together to get up to 12x.)

Another method would be to use a script to add the Velocity Envelope changes. For example, the velocity tool in Excalibur will add the velocity envelope AND resize the event correspondingly.
