  • Runtime error…VV7d won’t start up

Hello. Computer crashed last week. I had to have a pro guy save some documents for me and he ended up having to reload windows xp. Any way, I had/am having some issues installing and now starting up VV7d. First MM 2.2 wouldn’t install. So, I read about others who had this issue, tried to re-download, re-install. Didn’t work. Then I tried the trick of loading Acid 6d first (trial version) and then installing VV7. That worked. MM 2.2 installed successfully with both apps. Yeah! (I thought)

But now Vegas won’t start up. I get a Runtime error when I try to start the program. “This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.” My friend said he thought it was a .dll error/problem?

So, I’m wondering if my computer repair guy changed some setting in windows since I had VV7 on this machine before it crashed? I don’t know where to start as far as what to ask him…as far as what setting he may have changed. Your help is appreciated as always. Derek

Hello again. OK I installed VV6d and I got the same error message on start up. It hangs at the audio engine part. I tried installing my motu fw traveler sc…same error, updated to latest directx…same error. Any ideas other than a clean XP install? Thank you. Derek
