Did a search but don’t see this one anywhere. I need to add a 1k tone along with color bars to deliver a project to a small station. Should I use SMPTE bars or Color Bars (NTSC)? Also, I thought there was a tone in Vegas but I can’t find it. I thought I could drop it on the timeline with the bars; is that the correct placement?

    Thanks much,
    sjc

SMPTE bars should be fine, however why not just contact the station’s engineer and ask him the requirements per your deilvery medium. They may require tone be at a reduce level if your deliver on a format other than analog.

[Mister Cat] “I need to add a 1k tone along with color bars to deliver a project to a small station.”

If you will be laying your project back to DV tape you could use the “print to tape” function which will create bars and tone for you.
If you own a audio app such as Audition it can generate tones for you.
Or email me at cooledit2003@yahoo.com and I will send you a 1K Tone file.

    Regards, Rick.

Thanks Rick. I just realized I can generate a tone in AE.

    Thanks again,
