  Sony problems

  Can anyone help me…
  I have just installed a new hard drive and used the WD software to copy my original boot drive. Now however I cannot run any Sony programmes, nor can I un-install them and re-installing doesn’t work – each time the software asks me for my serial number and when I enter it the programme responds with ‘This software is not installed properly’

  The programmes concerned are:

  Vegas 7
  DVD Architect 4
  Sound Forge 8

  I am also having problems with Sony Sonicstage 4.3 (used for my Walkman), every time I run Windows Explorer it attempts to install Sonicstage and then tells me it cannot find the necessary files.

  This problem only seems to affect Sony programmes as everything else is working fine – e.g. Pinnacle Studio 10 plus, Adobe Photoshop CS2, CS3 & Lightroom, Steinberg Wavelab, Nero 7 – all work fine.

  Sony is obviously sensing that you have a new hard drive (i.e. new serial number for it).
  The easiest (and simplest) solution is to re-register.
  If you do it online, it’s quick and painless.
  BTW, Sony has no problems with you doing this unless you’ve done it numerous times. Then it’s a quick email/phone call to Customer Support explaining the situation and you’re back in business.

  If uninstall/reinstall doesn’t work, call Sony and let them walk you through manually deleting it so you CAN reinstall it.
