  • How to edit MPG?

I may have to edit a project that has been shot on a SONY DCR-SR80. This camera records to an internal hard drive. I have run some preliminary tests and have some problems. The file is recorded as a MPG. I edit with an Avid Xpress Pro which does not recognize MPGs. I have tried to convert it to a Quicktime with Squeeze but it crashed my computer each time. Are these files meant to be edited at all? Is there a SONY product that could handle them?

    Many thanks.

You can edit Mpeg2 on Vegas, but try Mpeg Wizard from Womble.

I downloaded a demo version of Vegas. It appears to do everything that I want it to. I am recommending that the client add the cost of the software to the budget.

    thanks
