I’ve been thinking of purchasing a laptop to run vegas on. I haven’t been doing HD projects yet but would like to in the future. DV rack is a program I would like to use too. I’ve searched other post but newer chips from intel (core 2 dual) have been released so I’m not sure what cpu would be best. I thought someone posted to avoid intel centrion cpu’s. I’m looking for a balance between value and performance but leaning toward performance. Any suggestions regarding brands (dell, hp, and etc.) would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I’m running Vegas7 on a top of the range Rock laptop. Dual core 2.

Runs sweetly but done little XDcamHD to date.

we have 2 laptops from https://xtremenotebooks.com/

We were a little nervous at first but I swear they have stood the test of time.
They deal with Prostar brand laptops. They are the same as “Sager” among others.
Good strong chassis and all great internal quality parts.
High speed WD or Hitachi drives, intel chipsets, good Ram. Real video cards great multi display handling.
Came completely stripped of “fluff”. nothing but windows XP pro
You can really specify what you want in it.
They were considerably less expensive than a comparable notebbook from other sites.
I swear to you that I am not affiliated with them at all.
I just did alot of research (probably too much) and was delightfully surprised.
everything arrived as ordered and on time.
