    Hi All,
Here is my problem–I am trying to capture video using Vegas (tried 5 & 7). I am playing a VHS video tape from a VCR player through a Canopus ADVC110 into Vegas capture. When it shows up in the Vegas preview window the picture kind of flashes or rolls left to right every few seconds. When I view this tape on the tv played through the same VCR it plays fine-no problem. I tried a totally different VHS tape using the same exact setup into Vegas and it works fine. What is up??? I need to get this tape onto a DVD for a customer so any help would be MUCH appreciated.

    Thanks
    Dave P.

It may not have stable sync. What if you record it to a digital tape, then capture that?

…..or is it possible that tape has copy protection?

What I ended up doing was trying another VCR and it worked fine. Baffeling to me that the newer VCR wouldn’t work yet the 8 year old VCR did. Still though I would like to figure out exactly why this was happening. The world of digital video–you just gotta love it!!!
