    Hey guys. I’m working on a film in Vegas 5. I have applied a sweet cartoon effect by frameserving into photoshop and bringing back into Vegas; got that from one of your past posts 🙂 Anyway, I’m having a heck of a time with color correction! In my project, I have finally gotten the colors to be right where I want them, but everytime I render the picture is quite a bit darker and sometimes even hard to make out.

    Rendering terms:

    undersample rate = .800 (for a faint choppy effect). This sets playback rate at 23.976 fps
    MPEG2 – NTSC DVD Widescreen
    fps = 24

    I’m not too educated when it comes to rendering, so I’m open to any advice. Thanks a ton guys!

    Kenny~

    I’m guessing that you were using your computer monitor to judge colours and you’re viewing the final on a TV set.
    Due to the gamma differences between the two, a computer monitor should NEVER be used for colour correction because it leads to the exact issues you described.
    Even a (properly set up) cheap video monitor/TV set is better than a computer monitor for this purpose.
    BillyBoy’s site has some good tutorials on how to work around this issue.
