    Hello All

I have never been here before but i am hoping someone can help me

I shot a very low budget music video for an up and coming artist, i did all the mixing and showed it to her and all she could see was the pimple on her face!

It was shot with a sony HC1 HDV 1080i

It Features alot of facial closeups

So I am hoping someone here knows a solution that will allow me to mask that pimple

I need a way to cover the pimple or a way to color correct the pimple to make it less noticable, i am guessing the latter would be the better solution

    here is a sample:

I would probably try and use After Effects. Download the 30 day trial or something and check out this tutorial. https://www.creativecow.net/articles/kramer_andrew/blemish_removal/blemish_removal.html

The pimple is not that bad. depending on how much extra time you want to spend on this for free, you can do any of several things. Tell her your not the makeup artist, and re-shoot it. Try a soft fx like glow to soften the look. Key frame a fx just on the pimple…real time waster.

I am grabbing after effects, that is clearly something i will be needing in the future

I was hoping to find a solution that would simply allow me to color correct the pimpled area and lose the darker brown and make it more like the surrounding area

im guessing what i need is the masking function in after effects

    any ideas?

You could TRY (not sure it would work) to zoom in and sample it with the secondary color corrector. That might change it.

You could copy the clip to another track, offset it a little and use a small cookie cutter on the upper track to cut it out. It would be small and use feathering.

This works for sure but is tedious: Export the clip. Make a region, “Tools-Scripting-Export image sequence”. Open each still file in Photosphop, remove the pimple with clone stamp tool and resave. Then reimport all the saved corrected stills, “File-import-media.” Click on the first numbered file and then the box in lower left to import the string. Vegas will bring the string of corrected stills back into the media pool. Put them back in the region above the old clip.
