  • Adding a transition to multiple images??

Hey guys and gals, I am new here and had a question about Vegas 6. I am making a picture montage for my cousins wedding. It is going to be exclusively still picture images, transitions, and music. Since I have over 120 images in this montage, how do I set a transition to multiple pictures? I am only going to use 2 or 3 transitions throughout the montage, and don’t want to have to apply a transition for every single picture.

Is there any way to easily do this? Also, when I import the images into the project media area, they aren’t in alphabetical order. Is there a way to sort the files in the project media area alphabetically? Any help on these issues would be amazing! Thank you very much in advance!

if you highlite all of the images you want to apply a particular transition to (control click) then drag that transition down to the timeline and you’re done. Do this as many times as needed with other transitions. Hightlite the images you want the transition to be applied to and drag. If you want to use 4 different transitions for example each on 30 images highlite those 30 and drag the transition down, do the next 30, ETC.

Or use the script I posted a link to yesterday that will add random transitions for you.

Thank you very much guys, that worked perfect. I am still stumped about importing my images however. In my folder in Windows, I have my images named A1-A50. For some reason when I import them into Vegas, they don’t import in order, and I can’t seem to sort them. It would be much easier if they imported in alphabetical order so I could just drag and drop them in the timeline. Any ideas on that? Thank you in advance!

You have them named incorrectly. Try:

    A01, A02, … A50

After selecting them – you MUST drag A01 (the one that you drag will always be first)
