  Mpeg Mp3 not recognized

  Hi,
  Suddenly I can not play, render, or save as Mpeg or Mp3 in either Vegas (5.0d)
  or Soundforge (7.ob). The options to save/render have totally disappeared from the programs. Upon trying to import/open I get the format not supported message. What happened? How can I fix it? A simple re-install didn’t work. Will uninstall-re-install work.

  ok

  the uninstall/reinstall(everything sony)and deleting all sony/soundforge registry(suggested in a search on the subject) worked

  but can anyone tell me why that happened?

  now I have to reprogram my toolbars, hotkeys, etc
  I wouldn’t care to do this too often. Any ideas on prevention appreciated.
