I’m sure this is a dumb question but here goes… I know that Photoshop is used by a lot of videographers. my question is why? Could you give me some examples of how you incorporate this program into your editing? Is a photo editing program like Photoshop necessary when you have a program like Vegas? Thanks for your feedback.

It’s my CG and paint program. I do a lot of graphics for corporate work; couldn’t do without it.

I use it in creating special transitions and in removing unwanted items from a clip – as in exporting an animation, several fraqmes from a clip, correcting them and then reincorporating them as video.

I use it for pretty much all of my titling and logos and graphics situations. It’s really nice that Vegas uses PSD files, but it would be killer if they started supporting layers.

have you tried exporting a PSD layers as separate files, then dropping into vegas?

not the same, i know, but better than nothing

Yeah that’s what I end up doing, but that defeats the purpose. 🙂

I believe Final Cut Pro can see the layers in PSD files, as well as Premiere. Would be nice for Vegas to take this on as well.
