how to put title from adobe after effects to sony vegas 5?
My friend created a title that needs to go on a scene in our film
how does he send it to us for us to be able to add it in over a scene? -

Try uncompressed AVI. Either that or an image sequence (i.e. series of targa files)

I just don’t know how this adobe after effects work, I asked him to do it on a a transparent back? Does vegas 5 have a transform mode?

Yes. Make sure he saves WITH transparency. Once you bring it into Vegas, if it doesn’t see the transparency, right-click it and change the alpha-channel mode.
