Audio “Rate” – where does it come from?
I’m working on 2 machines trying to get a big project finished. The sound disappeared on one. I noticed a slider I hadn’t seen before “Audio Rate” with a position. When I moved it, sound began again, off but when I moved it to a “1” reading it sounded correct. However, when I stopped playing the video on the timeline it would go back to an off position and no sound. There is no lising for “rate” or “audio rate” in the Vegas manual. I can’t figure how it got there or why. The only thing is I did reset properties before rendering some stuff to 24p widescreen. I’d like to know where it came from and how to control or get rid of it.

Further explanation — it is where you can scrub audio. The lower triangle for setting audio speed stays in “1” but the scrubber is zero. The audio will not play unless I adjust the scrubber to “get it going” and then it continues. I stop and no audio when playing the timeline. If I render a file, the scrubber goes back to zero and no sound EVEN if it is mpeg2 and the “Custom” button and sound is turned on.
I suppose the scrubber always jumps to zero but why effect sound?

Finally found an unintentional parent-child. I had to move all audio to a new track. How do you get OUT of a parent-child relationship? I find nothing in the manual.
